Nagluluksa man hanggang ngayon ang mga kamag-anak, kaibigan, at tagahanga ng mga pinaslang na sina Percy Lapid at Yvonne Chua Plaza, ay huwag naman nating kalimutan na bigyang-pansin at pagpupugay ang agarang aksyon ng Philippine National Police sa paghahanap ng hustisya para sa kanila. Sa kaso ni Percy Lapid, noong Oktubre ng nakaraang taon ay pinangalanan na bilang person of interest ang ngayo’y main suspect na si former BuCor Chief Gerald Bantag. Sa kaso naman ni Yvonne Chua, pinangalanan ng Police Regional Office-Davao si Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante III bilang suspect. Ang dalawang kasong ito ay patunay na kayang gampanan ng PNP ang kanilang tungkulin na resolbahin ang anumang krimen sa madaling panahon, maging ang main suspects man – guilty or not guilty -- ay mga tanyag na men in uniform din.

However, after arraignment, trial may proceed notwithstanding the absence of the accused : Provided, that he has been duly notified and his failure to appear is unjustifiable.
