I love this scene of unrequited love in Staying Alive:

Jackie (Cynthia Rhodes) "indirectly" singing to, serenading, Tony (John Travolta). He remains stone-faced, though not without a hint of internal stirrings, throughout her heartfelt performance. She sings and reaches out to him who keeps stepping back, beyond. Singing, "I'm finding out the hard way, it's gonna take some tears, little bit of heartache. We're like islands in the stream, watchin' all our dreams start to fade, fadin' away."

At the end of the scene, Jackie walks backstage. Tony follows her, hurriedly but -- I guess -- "casually."
